This was the German Testing Night at imbus: Expert Insights and Engaging Conversations

10/12/2026

Numerous guests, current topics, and plenty of opportunities to connect

October 8, 2026, German Testing Night took place at imbus in Möhrendorf for the second time. We are delighted that even more testing enthusiasts from the region joined us than at the premiere!

Three practical presentations explored different challenges relating to AI and software quality:

AI Coding Requires Clear Quality Standards

Gregor Biswanger demonstrated how AI-generated code can be turned into reliable enterprise software. Clear requirements, spec-driven development, and automated testing provide the foundation. Consistent quality gates help teams verify the results produced by AI agents.

Structured Analysis of Project Documents with LLMs

Dr. Mark Menzel presented a framework developed by the City of Munich that can be used to analyze extensive project documentation and, for example, transform it into test concepts. Information is classified as substantiated, derived, or missing, making assumptions and gaps visible. Mandatory human review safeguards the results—following the principle: Review first, then generate.

Security Testing as an Ongoing Task

Our colleague Julian Lorz explained why a one-off penetration test cannot guarantee lasting security. Risk-based testing, automated attack simulations, and integration into CI/CD processes help continuously assess the resilience of IT systems. Manual testing also remains indispensable.

Networking in a Relaxed Atmosphere

Afterwards, over grilled food, drinks, and laid-back music, the conversations began: there was plenty of time to share experiences, explore questions in greater depth, and make new connections.

Many thanks to our speakers, to Nils Röttger for putting together the program, and to Viktor Paland and Richard Seidl for organizing the event together. And, of course, thank you to all the guests who helped make the evening such a success!

We were delighted to welcome the testing community back to our offices. See you next time!
